Boston is often the most recognizable and widely talked about city in New England and boy did the Boston teams mean business this past weekend! A ton of talent was on display but representing New England in fashion were the teams from the City of Champions. These Boston teams were up against some of the best talent there was at this event and the players on their roster are super talented. All weekend long there were jam-packed games riddled with high energy and containing some of the best talent New England has to offer. Here are 5 of the best players from Boston native teams.

Hijjah is a prolific scoring guard that plays with a special spark in her game. HAP performed well in the games vs Lighting Elite and GTS Fusion GUAA, who had some top-level guard play on their teams. Hijjah displayed some of her toughest moves in these exhibitions; including a combo move flurry into a floater off the glass with defenders draped all over her. Her playmaking ability is always at the forefront of her game and she uses her scoring ability to open up things for others. Defenders must know where HAP is at all times, she is a constant scoring threat and can put up points in bunches.

Alannah Morantus

State: New England

School: Cushing Academy

Alannah Morentus (2027) | 5’9 CG | Shooting Touch

An absolute star playing up and doesn’t look flustered one bit. So much character coming from Alannah and she doesn’t back down from a challenge. Morentus is super competitive and it’s translated in her game. In the game vs NY Havoc, Alannah had her imprint all over the game. She is a two-way star that gets to it at both ends. On the defensive side, she is using her long arms and quick feet to shade defenders to whatever side she would like and puts the defensive clamps on ball handlers. She puts heavy ball pressure on dribblers and likes to cause turnovers in any manner she can. Super agile and athletic, Morentus can get going in the open court and score easy points in transition. In the halfcourt, Alannah is just as much of an offensive factor. She is able to use her handle to get by defenders, even if they attempt to double her and she loves to finish tricky layups around the basket. Morentus forces contact by being a relentless driver and she made sure to get to the basket the entire weekend. She is also a good shooter that hits shots in rhythm within the offense and transition as well. She shoots with range and it must be noted that she knocks down free throws too.

Alannah, although a young prospect, her game is well rounded and she has some of the most potential in the whole region. No wonder why she is picking up heavy school interest already.

Isys Dunphy Isys Dunphy 5’10” | PF Barrington | 2025 State New E (2025) | 5’10 W/F | Boston Showstoppers

Dunphy stood out this weekend in her early games with stellar defense and consistent play all weekend. She allows her defense to create easy scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. Her defense is infectious and she does a great job matching up against multiple positions because of her size and sheer athleticism. Isys is a solid offensive player due to her fundamentally sound game. She is one of the few that uses a signature inside pivot move to open up and get into a triple threat position. Isys can finish through contact and knocks down her three throws, making her a solid offensive factor.

Overall, Dunphy is one of the more solid wing/forwards around and she proved that this weekend.

Club: Boston Showstoppers

Evi Higgins Evi Higgins 5’11” | PF Berkshire | 2025 State New E (2025) | 5’11 W/F | Boston Showstoppers

Evi is a knock down shooter who can quickly get it going. A long-range sniper who consistently hit 3s in her games this weekend. What was surprising was Higgins’ ability to hit midrange shots and also get to the line. Her aggressive and strong takes to the rim were staggering. Evi was able to hit easy shots throughout the game by simply moving without the ball. Defensively, Higgins was solid and aggressive all weekend long. She was able to three quarter shade players attempting to fight for position on the block and she was up on her toes as a perimeter defender as well.

Higgins is a constant for her team and although typically deemed as a shooter, she has so much more to her game.

Christina Pham

State: New England

School: Noble & Greenough

Club: Shooting Touch

Christina Pham (2025) | 5’7 PG | Shooting Touch

Pham is hands down one of the best prospects in all of New England. In her game vs NY Havoc she was able to show full ball control and played at her constant up-tempo speed. She uses her tight handle to shake defenders and get into her sets before she looks to get a bucket. A 3-level scorer that showed the perfect combination of creation for others and pure scoring. Pham was able to rely on her scoring prowess when the defense was taking away all options from the play that was called. Christina shows off ball skill as a shooter because of her other teammates who can handle the facilitation roll. She moves well without the ball and has a lethal corner ball 3. Christina scores in bunches and can get hot in a second, she plays with a certain rhythm that can stump the best of defenders. In a physical game this weekend Pham ended up sustaining an injury, but showed true perseverance by coming back in the game and playing with just as much intensity after taking a rough hit that left her down for a minute. On the defensive side of things, Christina is just as much as a factor. She is lightning quick on her toes and runs ball handlers off the ball. Pham checks cutters and keeps her head on a swivel at all times. She keeps her eyes on the ball and is always in the right position as a help defender on the wing. Her rotations are sharp and time, allowing her to get the first step on creating turnovers.

Christina is a pure star on the court and she came to play this weekend. She put on a scoring and playmaking clinic all weekend. She is one of the best competitors around and was one of the reasons her team was able to play in a championship game.
