Lobotomy Corporation (2024)

"FACE THE FEAR, BUILD THE FUTURE"
- Company slogan

Lobotomy Corporation (로보토미 코퍼레이션, Robotomi Kopeoreisyeon), or L Corp (L사, L Sa), was one of the twenty-six Wings and owner of District 12's Nest before the corp's collapse. L Corp's Singularity was the ability to materialize the human mind called Cogito, and the company used this to market itself as an eco-friendly energy producer for the City and the other Wings. Secretly, this was done through the creation and use of Abnormalities, monstrous and highly dangerous entities created from experiments with L Corp's Singularity.

The prequel game Lobotomy Corporation takes place entirely within the main facility of L Corp, during the collection of the Light. Information about the prequel can be found on the Lobotomy Corporation Wiki.

Description[]

As a Wing, L Corp. operated as an energy producer and supplier, entering mutual business relationships with a number of other Wings, including W Corp, R Corp, and T Corp. As much as L Corp. benefited each Wing, they also assisted it in turn (unknowingly allowing its plan to occur.) For example, T Corp. granted the use of its TT2 Protocol which was used to alter and loop the timescale of L Corp's main facility, while R Corp's Rabbit Team was contracted to act as security for the facility.

L Corp. was the product of a radical plan to fundamentally change the mentality of City life, carried out by its founding members in its main facility, by collecting Light and using it to release the Seed of Light over the City. This would allow all individuals to come to terms with their emotions and subsequently manifest E.G.O. The success of the Light's collection and release led to the White Nights and Dark Days and caused the collapse of the Wing and its branches. However, the Light's release was interrupted by Angela, who sought revenge for the suffering the plan inflicted on her and also freedom from L Corp, indirectly causing the Distortion Phenomenon in the process. Angela proceeded to remake L Corp's main facility into the Library to bide her time and plan for her freedom, all while the City's many factions are beginning to eye the sudden power vacuum in L Corp's former Nest to make their own fortunes.

At the same time with the fall of the new L Corp, Golden Boughs began to materialize within the fallen branches, becoming a sought after treasure for many who knows of its existence, including Limbus Company.

Branch Facilities[]

Lobotomy Corp. branch facilities are pivotal in the Sinner's mission, being where Golden Boughs are located.

Branch X-394[]

The main facility of L Corp, although initially buried underground, at some point, it rose above-ground and caused the White Nights and Dark days incident. Eventually converted into the Library by Angela.

Branch D-02[]

Located under a spot in the District 12 Backstreets, and has since degraded into a field of corpses and bugs.

The abandoned L Corp. branch whose Golden Bough resonated with Gregor. The Sinners failed to retrieve the Golden Bough at this location due to Hermann, Gubo, and Jia Huan swooping in and stealing it following Yuri's death.

Branch J-03[]

Located under a large casino in District 10's Backstreets, and is a large cave in the process of being turned into an expansion for storing vaults.

The abandoned L Corp. branch whose Golden Bough resonated with Rodion. The Sinners successfully retrieved the Golden Bough at this location, but only because Sonya allowed them to have it.

Branch K-02[]

Located under the Sinclair family mansion of the town of Calw in District 11’s Nest, and has since been turned into a chamber for torturing those the N Corp. Inquisition deems heretics.

The abandoned branch's Golden Bough resonated with Sinclair and Kromer. The Sinners successfully retrieved the Golden Bough at this location, but only because Demian killed Kromer for them, and subsequently allowed them to have it.

Technology Liberation Alliance-controlled Lobotomy Corp. Branch[]

A Lobotomy Corp Branch formerly controlled by K. Corp, where Dongrang had conducted his research before being attacked and taken over by the Technology Liberation Alliance. The abnormalities in this branch were somehow kept inactive, and the alliance was able to extract their E.G.O. Its Golden Bough was taken by Dongbaek, who upon the Sinner's arrival, fled and attacked the K Corp branch where Dongrang resides.

Its Golden Bough resonated with Yi Sang, Dongrang, Dongbaek, and The Tearful Thing. The Sinners successfully retrieved the Golden Bough upon defeating a Distorted and E.G.O-wielding Dongrang.

Lobotomy Corp. Drilling Ship[]

Visually resembling an oil rig, this branch facility is located in the Great Lakes of U Corp's District. Prior to the Pallid Whale's attack, it contained a Golden Bough along with a number of Abnormalities. Both were ingested by the former, who also left the branch (and its occupants including the LCCB team) Pallidified.

Its Golden Bough is not able to resonate due to being inside the Pallid Whale's heart. Instead, the Executive Manager experiences Ishmael's memories throughout the Canto. Having learned its location during their meeting with Rim aboard the drilling ship, they retrieved the Golden Bough from the Whale's innards after defeating an E.G.O-wielding Ahab.
