French Open 2024: Schedule, TV Info, Live Stream and Odds for Top Favorites

The French Open is back, as is 14-time French Open winner Rafael Nadal, who was sidelined all of 2023 due to injury.

While Nadal is making his return to Roland Garros one final time after announcing his plans to retire following the 2024 season, he is not the overwhelming favorite or even among the top five odds-on favorites.

Instead, Carlos Alcaraz and defending champion Novak Djokovic are the top two betting picks to win this year's edition of the French Open, while players such as Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud, and Stefanos Tsitsipas are also expected to go far.

On the women's side, Iga Swiatek is once again the overwhelming favorite, though players such as Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, and Aryna Sabalenka are expected to give the three-time French Open winner a run for her money.

2022 French Open quarterfinalist Jessica Pegula was also expected to advance far, though she withdrew from the tournament in an effort to continue her injury recovery.

Despite the return of 14-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz and defending champion Novak Djokovic have been given the best odds to win the 2024 French Open.

Djokovic enters the French Open with hopes of defending his points, while Alcaraz has not played a match since May 1, plagued by injury.

In the top half of the draw, the biggest threat to Novak Djokovic is arguably No. 7 seed and two-time French Open runner-up Casper Ruud, who could potentially face the 24-time Grand Slam champion in the quarterfinals.

Though No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev should not be counted out, either.

In the bottom half of the draw, Carlos Alcaraz has the best odds to reach the final, though he could face difficulties early with a potential fourth-round matchup looming against a player such as No. 15 seed Ben Shelton or No. 21 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The bottom of the draw also features No. 3 seed Jannik Sinner and No. 9 seed Stefanos Tstsipas, both equally capable of defeating Alcaraz.

Given the uncertainty surrounding both Alcaraz and Sinner, it is quite possible that Tsitsipas (13-3 on clay in 2024) emerges out of the bottom half.

In the top half, while Djokovic is the defending champion, his current fitness issues on clay are concerning and the possibility of beating a player such as Ruud or Zverev might prove to be too physically demanding for the Serbian at the moment.

As such, this provides the perfect opportunity for Zverev and Tsitsipas to meet in the French Open final, with the winner earning their first Grand Slam championship.

In the women's draw, No. 1 seed Iga Swiatek enters as the overwhelming favorite.

The 22-year-old has won three of the last four French Open women's championships and boasts a 28-2 career record at the French Open.

With a third-straight French Open title, Swiatek can join exclusive company and become just the third woman ever to win the French Open three consecutive times during the Open Era (Monica Seles, 1990–1992) and Justine Henin (2005–2007).

This remarkable feat seems attainable considering the Pole's 14-1 record on clay this season and current 12-match win streak, though the world No. 1 faces a tough draw with a potential second round matchup looming against former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka.

Elsewhere, a semifinal matchup against No. 3 seed Coco Gauff could cause challenges.

The bottom half of the draw offers even more challenges for Swiatek, with a possible matchup against No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka awaiting in the finals.

While Gauff, Sabalenka, and No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina all hope to eliminate Swiatek from the draw, they'll have to play mistake-free tennis to do so.

Even then, it is ultimately expected that on June 8, Swiatek will once again hoist the trophy for the third consecutive year.
